Most aquatic accidents don't happen when a child is only wearing a bathing suit.
We recommend fall test outs for our swimmers because of growth and lack of practice with the rollback to float during the summer months. A swimmer may practice but are not necessarily as proficient or confident with their rollback and they grow substantially so adjustments need to be made to their bigger bodies.
When a student returns for fall test outs, it is to ensure their recollection of being in water with clothes and performing a rollback is done with confidence so, if they meet the water alone, it is not the first time the experience the sensation. This is not drown-proofing! This gives your child necessary tools to have a fighting chance around water.
